The old BT Cellnet Genie sim users were unable to get there older Genie sims enabled for the GPRS services and they would need to buy new O2 Genie SIM cards from the O2 Genie network, loosing the unlimited free Genie texts.

A recent developments in O2 Genie SIM cards is the pay monthly Genie card on a 30 day roll over contract, these O2 Genie SIM cards advertised on the Genie website offer 1000 Genie text messaging plus a variety of any-one calls on Genie phones. The Genie Mobile phone is still very popular but many mourn the passing of the original Genie UK, the BT Cellnet offering.

I have one of the original Genie cards with unlimited text that I purchase some years ago from Genie Mobile UK. Genie Cellnet alas no longer with us.
