Nostradamus: The Prophecies
Born - Michel de Nostredame in St. Remy, France on 14th December
1503, Nostradamus has become one of the world's most widely known
and read prophets.
The recent television series 'First Wave' has renewed interest
in the prophetic Quatrains of Nostradamus.
Nostradamus published his first set of 100 quatrains in 1555, these
quatrains are claimed to conceal information about future events,
A quatrain is a poem which in the original French language had
four lines. These were written in books of 100 quatrains called
Century's. His most famous prophecy probably is "Century #2
Quatrain # 24" which allegedly predicted the Second World War:
Bestes farouches de faim fleuues
tranner;
Plus part du champ encontre Hister sera,
En cage de fer le grand fera treisner,
Quand rien enfant de Germain obseruera.
A very rough english translation follows.
Beasts ferocious from hunger will swim across
rivers:
The greater part of the region will be against the Hister,
The great one will cause it to be dragged in an iron cage,
When the German child will observe nothing
|
Nostradamus often left a letter out of peoples names or changed
letters in the name, presumably to add to the mystic nature of his
Quatrains. Many who study the Quatrains of Nostradamus allege that
the name "Hister" in this Quatrain is in fact Hitler.
